The membership of Delaire Country Club in Delray Beach, Fla. recently approved plans for an $8 million renovation of their clubhouse. Construction will begin in the spring of 2022 and is expected to be completed by October 31.
The renovation will add a second kitchen and three new dining venues, upgrade the outdoor dining areas, and update the interior design throughout the clubhouse.
This latest project is the second and final phase of a five-year capital improvement plan that began in 2020. C+RB first reported on the renovation in March 2020.
First-phase improvements were comprised of projects that include expenditures for mechanical and structural improvements, golf course infrastructure upgrades and perimeter landscaping, and updates to two kitchens. The total cost of Phase One, including contingencies, was put at $3.8 million.
Work on the golf course infrastructure ($1.95 million) included irrigation heads, controls and pumps, fertigation system, bulkhead repair/replacements, etc.; equipment replacement (aerators, spray rigs, dump truck, etc.); golf driving range mats, drink cart, lightning detection system, etc.; and golf course restroom and refreshment area update.
Mechanical and Structural ($650,000) work included repaving the parking lot; HVAC systems; laundries, water heaters, etc.; tennis court resurfacing, equipment, etc.; pool resurfacing; and gym flooring.
The club has secured M Design Studio LLC in Naples, Florida and Currie Sowards Aguila Architects of Delray Beach to spearhead the project.
